I first met Mindy Levy, co-host of the "Mike and Mindy Morning Show" on Lite Rock 99.3 back in 2005 when I was first hired by (at the time) Clear Channel Radio. I was doing what's called in the business, board op'ing. Meaning I was running the controls for her morning show while live on location. Did I do a good job? Nope, I butchered the whole thing. But Mindy stuck with me, guided me through the event and taught me how to execute the show the way it was to be done. Fast forward to today, and Mindy and I are hosting bridal shows together, I love seeing her mother out at station events we do together, and above it all Mindy is one of the brightest stars in Brevard County radio history.
Simply put, Mindy has been the only female on air personality I've worked with in our building my entire career. When we started this podcast I knew I had to have Mindy on because I wanted to know, what's it been like being the only female in a male dominated building. I wanted to know how has the business changed for women since she started. And I wanted to know what Mindy thinks about many things that have never impacted me, but has been a huge part of her career. Through it all, Mindy has the best attitude with her position in the company. She hosts numerous events around Brevard for charities. She consistently has the biggest and best morning show, along with Brevard County rockstar Mike Lowe. I was very lucky to have Mindy on the podcast, and will always have an open invite for her to join the podcast again.
Now, let me talk about the food Todd came up with for this episode. First off, the Blackberry Margarita was bonkers and yes I had 3 of them during the podcast LOL! We start off, as always with the queso fondido because it's amazing. But Todd and his chef took this episode to the NEXT LEVEL! Go take a look at the steak and shrimp dinner we had, but with a chimichurri sauce because HOLY COW (pun intended) it was out of bounds!
