Duval County Public Schools to change early release schedule for next year

The 2018-2019 school year just ended for Duval County Public Schools and they're already looking ahead at the changes to make next year according to News4Jax.

For the 2019-2020 school year, the school board plans on having less early release days in order to help parents who have to make child care arrangements for those days. Currently, students are released one hour early every other Wednesday of the month. The change would have students being released two hours early, but only once a month.

DCPS has already released the new 2019-2020 calendar. It appears that all early release days will be on the last Wednesday of the month, with the exception of November and December since students will be on holiday vacation the last week of those months.
