The Bill Clinton Affair Scandal is getting hashed out in Impeachment: American Crime Story.
The show's first trailer introduces how the story might be told. It looks like this season relies heavily on Beanie Feldstein playing young Monica who trusted friend Linda Tripp, played by Sarah Paulson, with the tea that she'd been having a presidential affair with Bill Clinton. We lived through the history of what happened next: Linda's press conference, the infamous hug/beret photo circulating like wild, Bill's denial, the media shaming Monica and the eventual impeachment. Series creator Ryan Murphy brought on Monica Lewinsky herself as a producer on Impeachment.
Clive Owen puts on the drawl to play Bill Clinton, Edie Falco is Hillary Clinton and Cobie Smulders plays pundit Ann Coulter. Comedian (and new Ryan Murphy fave) Billy Eichner takes on commentator and Drudge Report creator, Matt Drudge.
Impeachment: American Crime Story premieres September 7 on FX.
