The Pulse: Weekend Packed with One Spark, Mini Makers and a Lantern Parade

One Spark @ Daily's Place Amphitheater

One Spark is back, y'all! After taking a couple years off to regroup and restructure, the crowdfunding festival is ready for round three. Creators take over Daily's Place to share ideas and pitch their projects from tech to fashion. Spend the day walking around the creator zones while stopping to eat local food and jam to live music.

Keep One Spark's website pulled up while you're there because The Spark Exchange lets you vote in real time for your favorite creators to crown the 2018 Creator of the Year. Some creators will be going head to head in the Spark Tank competition to compete for $25,000 in funding!

And don't forget about One Spark After Dark! It's the after party you can't miss either night. Especially Friday night cause the main stage will host two of my favorite local artists -- DJ NickFresh and Afro-Cuban band LPT!

Tickets are only $12.50 a day and include parking. Yes, lawd.

Mini Makers Faire @ MOSH

Mini Makers Faire logo

What's cuter and more awesome than inventive little kids? NOTHING. The Mini Makers Faire will feature more than 50 makers showing off their creations Saturday at MOSH. It's called the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth because these kids are mini engineers, artists, scientists and crafters!

It's a family-friendly event that also features special MOSH programming including EARTH, MOON & SUN: an adventure in space inside the Planetarium and DANCE OF LIGHT: a cosmic concert hop walk and slither!

Grown folk can make a pit stop at the adult beverage garden or caffeinate at the coffee labs with Bold Bean Coffee.

The event is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. so you've got plenty of time to stop by and be a hype man for these mini makers. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for kids and children under 3 get in free.

Best part, JTA is running a shuttle between this, One Spark and the Jacksonville Lantern Parade. Which reminds me...

Jacksonville Lantern Parade

Grab your lanterns, glow sticks or literally anything that twinkles and get down to the first Jax Lantern Parade Saturday night!

The parade will be on the river along the Northbank Riverwalk from the Fuller-Warren Bridge to the Jacksonville Landing. It's a celebration of creativity, art and community so it's the perfect way to end a day packed with innovative events.

Boats will be decked out and having their own parade on the river! The people parade will feature four drum lines including the most lit Jaguars D-line! You'll also find food, drinks, and photo booths along the route and under the Fuller-Warren Bridge.

And don't forget to stop and say sup to Colt at the KISS FM tent along the way!

The parade kicks off at 8 p.m. Get more info here.
