Happy Grilled Cheese Finally Opens a Brick and Mortar

We've waited three looooongs years, but The Happy Grilled Cheese finally opened their brick and mortar!

We can stop chasing the food truck all over town and stop in for lunch weekdays 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at their new downtown location at 219 Hogan Street. Their perfect hangover cures like the California Melt have gotten so popular in Jacksonville (just 13,000 Insta followers) that people lost it when they announced in 2014 a Happy Grilled Cheese restaurant would be opening in Five Points. And then we lost it again when delay after delay in the construction eventually forced owner Anthony Hashem to pack up and find a better location.

Here's a teeny look at the new location from Jacksonville Restaurant Reviews:

Obviously, I'm freaking thrilled. I live in Springfield so I'm just a short walk away from the tastiest Turkey Melt I've ever had. They'll have salads on the menu too, but whatever -- I'm here for the calories.

The store will run a soft opening this week and launch completely after Labor Day. If you actually love tracking down the truck, don't worry cause that'll still be bringing happiness in the form of cheese to your side of town.
