Game of Thrones showrunners cast Ed Sheeran the Sultry Ginger, First of His Name, to appear in the upcoming seventh season.
D.B. Weiss and David Benioff made the announcement at a SXSW panel for the HBO show. It turns out Maisie Williamsm, who plays Arya Stark, is a huge fan of Ed! Weiss and Benioff said “For years, we tried to get Ed Sheeran on the show to surprise Maisie [Williams], and this year we finally did it."
I'm guessing this was Maisie's reaction.
Benioff and Weiss were super tight-lipped about details on future seasons, but did confirm that season eight, the final installment of the series, will have an only six episodes.
UGH.
