UPDATE: The owner is claiming it was a rumor, despite being quoted in a police report.
The owner of Cruisers Grill in Jacksonville Beach admitted to knowing his employees have spit in the food of police officers being served in the restaurant.
The Jacksonville Beach chief of police issued a warning in a memo to his staff that eating at Cruisers could be hazardous to their health.
According to a police report, the owner said he knew his employees had been spitting in food and now he knew it was "because you are all bullies."
His anger seems to stem from a traffic citation he received from a Jax Beach police officer and an incident with two different officers at his restaurant. The owner believed he should have been given a warning and not a ticket for his expired registration.
