Jacksonville's 11th Annual Silent Night At JHS & ACPS

The Jacksonville Humane Society (JHS), along with Animal Care & Protective Services (ACPS), are continuing their annual Silent Night fostering tradition and are inviting the public to give shelter pets temporary homes for the holidays, giving their pets a much-needed break from the shelter at the merriest time of the year! The goal is to empty both shelters by Christmas Eve!

Families can pick up their Silent Night foster pets beginning on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. After Christmas, from December 26 to December 28, you can bring your Silent Night foster back to the shelter you fostered them from. You can tell all about how your foster pet was in the home, share pictures, and give valuable information for potential adopters.

Both dogs and cats are eligible. Silent Night families are encouraged to market their foster pets for adoption, and if they fall in love with their Silent Night guest, they are more than welcome to make them a part of the family and adopt them!

Foster pets adopted by their Silent Night foster families at the Jacksonville Humane Society will have their adoption fee generously sponsored by VCA Charities.

Participants are asked to visit JHS and ACPS December 20 - 24 during adoption hours to meet and take home their foster animal.

  • JHS is located at 8464 Beach Blvd and open 7 days a week, 12 p.m. – 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends.
  • ACPS is located at 2020 Forest Street and open 7 days a week, 12 p.m. – 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.

Silent Night participants are encouraged to bring a new or gently used leash and collar with them if picking up a dog and a new or gently used carrier if picking up a cat.
