James Earl Jones was the original voice of Darth Vader since the original movie came out in 1977 - and after nearly 40 years and many 'Star Wars' films and adaptations later, he is officially stepping back from his role at 91-years-old.

Jones has signed off on using archived voice recordings to recreate the voice of Vader for future Lucasfilm productions using A.I. from the company Respeecher.

However, did you know that they already did it? That's right, Darth Vader's voice performance in the Disney+ series 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' was technically produced by Respeecher's 29-year-old speech artist, Bogdan Belyaev.

If you didn't catch it, then that's a good sign! Even Jones' family gave Matthew Wood of Lucasfilm a thumbs up for the accuracy. Which is what I believe lead Jones into retiring from voicing Darth Vader.

This is just a sum of all the information found here, if you'd like to dive deeper!
