The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical took social media by storm with songwriters/creators Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear even scoring a Grammy win for 'best musical theater album'. But when it came to performing the musical live... Netflix shared concerns. "The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical Album Live in Concert" was performed in Washington D.C. earlier this week and Netflix decided to sue for infringement.
"The stage show reportedly featured more than a dozen songs that involved exactly copied dialogue, character traits, expression and other elements from 'Bridgerton.'" Netflix also claims that the musical "...misrepresented to audiences that it used the 'Bridgerton' trademark 'with permission.'" Also objecting to an allegedly planned line of merchandise and plans to tour.
