New Florida Laws Going Into Effect This Friday

SB 88 - Beverage Law

This law will authorize certain food establishments to sell or deliver certain alcoholic beverages off-location - under certain circumstances. This will also specify that these alcoholic beverages are not considered open containers in vehicles. (because how else would they be delivered?)

HB 7045 - School Choice

Ultimately, this law gives more opportunity and expands the eligibility for K-12 students to attend private schools - including dependants of a member of the U.S. Armed Forces, adopted children, and foster children. It also gives students with disabilities the option to choose between public or private schooling.

SB 1054 - Financial Literacy Instruction in Public Schools

Beginning in the 2023-2024 school year, students entering the 9th grade must earn one half-credit in personal financial literacy and money management in order to graduate and receive a high school diploma.

Florida Statute 316.3045 - Loud Music in Vehicles

This law will make playing music too loudly in vehicles a ticketable offense - allowing law enforcement to ticket drivers for playing music that can be heard at a distance of 25 feet or more, and for playing music too loudly in front of schools, churches, and hospitals.

There are many more laws that go into effect, find out what they are on News4Jax.
