This guy was serving in the military in the 1950's and 1960's when his sergeant advised him to invest in a really nice German watch, something called a "Rolex." They were, supposedly, very high quality watches. He took the advice and invested in a GMT Master, which did in fact turn out to be the best watch he ever owned.
He brought it to a showcase where the watch was appraised, and showed off that he had saved all the original paperwork, receipts, and components. The appraiser told him how much it would sell for auction today. He could potentially make over $60,000.
You read that right.
Over sixty thousand dollars.
