Kevin Bacon phoned in to On Air with Ryan Seacrest to reveal how he pulled off those Footloose moves 30 years later on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday night.

The actor recreated the entire dance scene after Fallon joked that dancing was outlawed on the talk show, and he proved to the world he’s still got it at 55-years-old.

Kevin reveals it was his idea to do something for the 30th anniversary of Footloose, but he didn’t know Fallon’s team would want him to actually dance.

“I actually pitched them the idea … because the anniversary of Footloose … but I didn’t really know they were going to blow it up in the way they did it,” he explains. “[I was like] I’m in the middle of shooting The Following, I don’t know if I can get this together … I worked the night before until about 2 o’ clock and I was standing in my kitchen at 2 a.m. looking at the moves they wanted me to do … like, ‘How did I do this?’”

In fact, Kevin had to rent his own movie to get his groove back on. ”I got Footloose on Netflix and fast-forwarded to those scenes because I don’t really look at my movies.”

The actor is currently busy shooting the finale of his hit new show The Following. And for all the fans out there, Kevin admits the finale has him “surrounded by FBI and covered in blood.”

Catch The Following on FOX tonight at 9/8c.
