NASA is Testing a New Moon Rocket

NASA is testing out a new moon rocket! Called the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, with empty and high-tech, automated Orion capsule deploying. Liftoff is set for Monday the 29th from Kennedy Space Center.

If all goes well, astronauts could strap in as soon as 2024 for a lap around the moon, with NASA aiming to land two people on the lunar surface by the end of 2025.

There are many differences between the rocket and capsule vs older models. You can read about those differences, flight plans, and more on News4Jax.
