With the support of dance music superstars like Steve Angello, Max Vangeli has found himself a place in the SIZE family. After touring around the world, and releasing an album with AN21, People of the Night, Max continues to push the envelope and has kicked 2014 off with a brand new release with Danny Ray. But he's not stopping there - Max has a lot planned for this year, and he's only getting started.

We caught up with Max recently, and he told us about his upcoming plans for 2014, what he loves about being a part of SIZE, his fans, and .... Aqua? (Remember them?!) Check it out below in our Q&A with Max Vangeli!

Tell us about your new collab "Grim" with Danny Ray. How did you both get together? What do you love about this track the most?

I have known Danny for many years now and we always planned to do something and finally did.  I found this weird chanting sample which was really unique, and we sort of built the record around that.  Was a really cool concept and something different.

Having kicked off 2014 by releasing your new track, what else do you have in store for this year? What are you looking forward to the most, and why?

Oh I have my big one coming for Miami this year, which I am really excited about!  Its going to be my little baby :)

What was your New Year's resolution this year?

To go harder and make sure 2014 is my biggest year yet!

How do you think you’ve grown as an artist from when you first started your career until now?

I would say I definitely matured a lot more.  At the beginning I was just all over the place but as you get older you learn to balance things out a lot better.

You collaborate with AN21 often. What is your favorite part about working with him?

I think we are both very aggressive producers and know exactly what we want, thus the end result is always something special.

People of the Night has was released in 2012. Any plans on a solo album?

DEFINITELY YES!  I would love to do a solo album one day and I will!

If you could get studio time with any musician or band in the world, dead or alive, who would it be?

Prodigy probably!

We recently caught one of your Facebook posts, which was a photo of John Lennon with Che Guevara. Being that you produce dance music, we’re interested to know what artists you listen to, or are inspired by, outside of EDM?

I'll be honest with you I would say ANYTHING that is NOT EDC I love! Rock, hip hop, etc.  I just LOVE music!

What is your first music memory?

I remember my parents listening to this French guy I used to love!  I don't even know who he was but he was amazing!  Also Adriano Celentano, haha.

Who is one artist or band you would never admit to listening to, but do?

Hmmm I used to listen to Aqua back in the day. I guess thats kinda embarrassing, but like I said I don't really care, I love it all.

There’s no place like home, so what do you love about San Francisco the most? Where is your favorite place to hang out?

I actually just moved to Vegas but I love SF.  Something about the city that is just amazing!  The food, the people, and its all by the water!

What’s your favorite thing about being a part of SIZE?

Being part of a family! We are all so close together, and it makes us very special.

You have many loyal fans. What has been your favorite fan interaction?

I love listening to voice messages of soldiers sending in to CODE Radio and telling me how much I help them with my music.  Its something special!

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given and who gave it to you?

My dad. He would always say, "Don't do anything I wouldn't do."

You play all over the world in different cities/clubs/etc., but what is the one thing that you always need in your rider?

Always need my alcohol for the friends and fans partying with me! Need to make sure everyone is having a good time right?
