MTV has decided to stop production on "Buckwild" for good in the wake of star Shain Gandee's sudden death earlier this month.  A network source tells that they couldn't see any way to continue the controversial hit series without the 21-year-old even though there is reportedly enough footage for several more episodes.

MTV stopped filming "Buckwild" on April 1st after Gandee and two others were found dead from carbon monoxide poisoning in a car near Sissonville, West Virginia.  Known as "the 'Jersey Shore' of Appalachia," the show debuted back in January, and was renewed for a second season in February.

Almost two-and-a-half-million people watched the premiere of "Buckwild," which is more than the number of viewers who tuned in to the first episode of the original "Jersey Shore" back in 2009.  But there were several issues surrounding the show.  Many West Virginians didn't want it on the air in the first place, and two of the show's nine cast members were arrested on drug possession and DUI charges.
