The producers of Glee have announced the direction they will take the show to address Cory Monteith's passing.

Fox Entertainment Chairman Kevin Reilly announced on Thursday that the third episode in the upcoming fifth season will directly write out Cory Monteith's character by dealing with drug addiction. Reilly specified that the character won't necessarily die from an overdose, but it is yet to be determined how Finn's death will occur.

Ryan Murphy, co-creator of Glee, confirmed that the cast will shoot PSAs that will air during the episode's commercial breaks. Additionally, proceeds from that episode's music will be donated to a fund set up for Monteith.

Reilly also confirmed that Glee was picked up for Season 6, but quickly added “I would not anticipate it going beyond two more seasons.” Thus creating speculation that the show will be cancelled after the hit show's sixth season.

What do YOU think? Is this the best way to handle Cory's passing?
